Yarn Bomb an Octopus' Garden
Target audience : open event
Participants will be involved in creating an Octopus' Garden on the quadrangle fence at West Launceston Primary School. Students, parents and friends of WLPS have been busily knitting, croqueting and creating wool yarn artwork to create a marine underwater scene. We feel peace when we imagine a world where we hold respect for all living things. On Saturday Aug 4 everybody is welcome to put the pieces together as a dynamic community art project.
Event Type: Inclusive Community art project using wool yarn
Event Description: Working together towards a common creative goal is a lot of fun. Participants can expect to be involved in a welcoming, colourful, workshop to create a beautiful work of art. A marine underwater scene is being created to celebrate the amazing diversity of marine species we currently know of. We envisage the artwork will encourage informal discussion of ways we can all use less plastic to assist life in the ocean. Come and join the fun and bring your creative flair! Sharing a passion for ocean life through community art creates happy moments of peace and respect for all living things.
