Poet in Schools (School Community Only)

A group of students from Glen Dhu Primary and then  Ravenswood Heights Primary Schools will work with local Poet Angus King  on Tuesday July 31st they will be working on the theme of Respect.

Angus King - Bio
Angus King is a local Tasmanian performance poet and event’s organiser. As well as being a two-time Australian Poetry Slam state finalist, Angus has spent the past three years at the helm of Slamduggery, an organisation that specialises in cultivating and running monthly poetry events (including a bi-monthly poetry slam) around Launceston. In the past three years Angus and his team have brought the likes of Harry Baker (former World Poetry Slam Champion), Alok Vaid-Menon, Sukjhit Kaur Khalsa, and Arielle Cottingham to Tasmania to perform and share their poetry experiences. Angus is also responsible for the presence of poetry at the Party in the Paddock music festival, having co-ordinated for poets to appear at the festival for the past three years running. Having completed his Bachelor of Primary Education in 2016, Angus has endeavoured to combine his passion for poetry with his passion for teaching, successfully running workshops at both Kings Meadows High School and with inmates at Risdon Prison.
