Draco is the name of the constellation of the dragon which circumnavigates the pole star where, in accordance with ancient mythology, newly dead Kings travel to attain immortality. This constellation is associated with immortality because it's stars, being circumpolar, never set and can therefore be seen in the heavens all year round. Symbolically, the dragon is also the guardian of the mythical tree of life which features in mythology the world over, where it serves as a protector of the cosmic egg. The ouroboros is a dragon or serpent swallowing its own tail and usually describes a circle symbolising eternity, rebirth and resurrection.
